This is a common misconception based on an error by Vasari.

While there, he viewed the extensive collections of Raphael and Titian that had been collected by Philip II.

Romanticism
A trip to England in 1825 included visits to Thomas Lawrence and Richard Bonington, and the color and handling of English painting provided impetus for his only full-length portrait, the elegant Portrait of Louis-Auguste Schwiter, (1826-30). Gregory the Great

He died in the house of his mistress Sophia Caroline Booth in Cheyne Walk, Chelsea on 19 December 1851.

There is no record of any serious disagreement or conflict between the two during the period of Blake's apprenticeship.

Early life
Degas was born in Paris, France, the eldest of five children of Célestine Musson De Gas and Augustin De Gas, a banker.
